Capesize rates softened slightly this week and the average for one-year was down 7% to an estimated $28,250. Interest in fixtures has been reported for six months to one-year periods.
The panamax timecharter market continued to move in an upwards trajectory thanks to support from the Atlantic and an improving market in the Pacific with plenty of period activity reported.
The smaller sizes remained firm and with supramax rates for six months up to an average of $32,000/pdpr.
