Malaysian authorities seized a Norwegian ship on 21st August after it anchored on the Malaysian coast without permission. The ship ‘Clipper Hermod’ that bore registration of Stavanger was allowed to leave.

According to a Malaysian Maritime Authority spokesperson, the ship had 20 crew members of 28- 58 years. The crewmembers hailed from Norway, Russia, Latvia, and the Philippines.

The Norwegian company Solvang owns the ship. The company stated issues are solved, and the ship was allowed to leave from the coast outside Sekinchan city. The ship is on its journey to Singapore.

The CEO of the shipping company found the Malaysian Authorities decision very surprising as he stated the ship had been there earlier many times. However, there was no explanation on the seize this time.
