Production of gas condensate, a very light form of oil, fell in Russia by 17% year on year in August to 2.47 million tonnes, following a fire at a Gazprom GAZP.MM processing plant, Interfax news agency reported on Thursday.
According to three sources, Gazprom cancelled gas condensate exports in August after a fire at its processing plant in Urengoy curbed gas exports via the Yamal-Europe pipeline.
Interfax reporting daily production of gas condensate in Russia fell to 80,000 in August from 100,000 tonnes in July, citing government data.
That led to an overall decline in Russian oil and gas condensate output to 10.43 million barrels per day (bpd) in August from 10.46 million bpd in July.
Russian gas condensate is excluded from an output deal by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allied countries, including Russia, known as OPEC+.
